The PlantTracker Project has now finished

We are leaving this site in-situ so that people can continue to view the data

The PlantTracker project was a collaborative project between Natural Apptitude, the Environment Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, Natural Resources Wales and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

These plants are spreading quickly across the UK. They displace native species and detrimentally affect the ecology of many vulnerable habitats. Some also pose a considerable threat to human health. These plants also present a large financial cost to the UK economy with the annual cost of all invasive, non-native species totalling some £2 billion.

The first step in tackling this problem is accurately determining where these plants are. PlantTracker was designed to tackle this problem.  More than 25,000 records were submitted over the life of the project.

The app

The PlantTracker app, previously available from the iTunes App Store, Google Play Store and Windows Store has been removed from sale.  We hope this will be a temporary move whilst we search for funding to update the application.
